Title: Prognosis of Patients with Mild Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (mPAP 21-24 mmHg) in the Light of New Studies

Abstract

The definition of pulmonary hypertension (PH) is primarily based on haemodynamic assessment. There is limited published data on the role of comorbidity in determining the nature and natural history of newly defined populations (mPAP 21-24 mmHg and PVR >2-≤3 WU) according to recent guidelines. In our study, ‘Long-term natural course of patients with pulmonary artery pressures in the range of 21-24 mmHg: Insights from a single center study’, we aimed to determine the long-term follow-up results of these patients and those who were diagnosed with definite PAH during their follow-up and performed a literature review. In this way, we aimed to identify patients who require close follow-up and to determine those in whom early treatment can be decided. Although the definition has changed according to the guidelines, these patients are still untreated due to lack of studies.
